I’m very pumped to announce that I’ve joined the staff of Rookie Mag!

Here is my first illo for them. It’s for a piece that explains to non-campers why Summer Camp is the best place on earth. (I never actually when to a camp, so I just watched “A Wet Hot American Summer”)

There was a big metal bowl in the garden of the house that I grew up in. It was full of water plants and snails that I would pluck off the slimy bottom. I was reminded of the “pond” after seeing some really beautiful work by Jun Cen at the last Mocca festival. ✿

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to our show! There were more people than we expected and we even made a sale. For a first attempt at planning a show, it was a great success. I’m incredibly grateful to be friends with such hardworking and talented people. The next show is in the works! ✿
